Food Gift Wrapping Ideas!

Hello All! As promised I will be sharing some food gift wrapping ideas. On Tuesday I shared with you my ALL time favorite tradition of my White Chocolate Party mix. Today I am going to show you how I wrapped the mix to give as gifts to neighbors and my husbands co-workers.

This one I used a tall coffee mug( this was given to me as a gift and never used) I used printed cellophane paper (I purchased on closeout last year after Christmas) I wrapped closed with curling ribbon and made the tag out of scrapbook paper. All supplies I had on hand!

I used red wire baskets, printed cellophane wrap, curling ribbon and a scrapbook paper gift tag. I have had these baskets for many years. I had them from my days of working at JCP, they were left over GWP baskets for Michael Jordan Cologne. (OLD) I thought I would find a use for them one day, and now I finally have; many years later. Again all supplies on hand. The next wrapping ideas I got a little more creative. I started with plain glass jars that I have had waiting to use one day, just like the baskets!

I decided to use my Martha Stewart stencils on 2 of the jars. I used the snowflakes and the holly leaves.

I used glass paint to trace on the designs. For the snowflake glass I than used gold glitter glue, because the white dried clear. I forgot to take picture of the jars after the glass paint dried. Oops! Sometimes I get so into the project that I forget to take pictures!

The poinsettia jar I just wrapped in printed poinsettia cellophane, curling ribbon and made the gift tag. The snowflake jar looks really cute empty, but you can’t see that since I forgot to take the picture! I cut a fabric square and tied with gold ribbon. All items I had on hand!

For the mason jar, I had a long moment with the jar! I kept talking to myself I could paint it, no! I could make a label for the sides and use fabric to cover the top, no! What can I do with you? Than it hit me – BAM! Do you ever have those Aha moments, well I did with this one. A santa hat, I could top the jar with a santa hat. Than the rest of the ideas just kept flowing on how I was going to finish the body of the jar. I went looking in my materials to see what I had on hand. I had a really silky red fabric that I could make for the santa hat. It would be thin and flimsy, but I could stuff it. I than thought about the santa hats and stockings we have accumulated over the years. I found the perfect one to use for my Santa hats.

This is a perfect piece to use. I used a seam ripper and separated the red felt. I sewed 4 of the tips together to form a small hat.

I than stitched the fuzzy ball on top. The felt fabric was perfect, it held up the weight of the ball. I stitched on the ruffle to the brim of the hat. I had the ruffle material left over from an Olive Ole costume I made 2 years ago.

I glued on black buttons and black felt. I used my gold glitter glue to make the belt buckle. I love when an AHA moment turns out so dang cute!
